KFC Builders is proud to serve our disabled veterans as a Specially Adapted Housing (SAH) contractor in southern California. As an SAH contractor we can remodel an existing home or build a new home to accommodate the veteran's disability. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers housing grants of up to $70,000 to help pay for these modifications.
Housing Grants for Disabled Veterans
Two VA grants are available to help veterans and servicemembers with service-connected disabilities. The SAH Grant requires the home to be owned by the eligible individual whereas the smaller Special Housing Adaptation (SHA) Grant allows the home to be owned by a family member. Eligible disabilities for these grants include:
Blindness
Loss of use of both hands or legs
Severe burns
Certain respiratory injuries

Detailed information regarding these adaptive housing grants are available directly from the VA Website.
